Privacy policy

SwapRaven is built privacy-first. You do not need an account, an email address, or any personal information to browse the directory, filter, sort, read reviews, or open a listing. The site works fully without JavaScript and is available over Tor.

What we don't collect

  • We do not log your IP address. Our application never receives visitor IP addresses from the web server.
  • We do not store user agents, browser fingerprints, or any device identifiers.
  • We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or social media pixels.

Analytics cookie (non-identifying)

To understand roughly how many people view a listing — as opposed to raw page loads, which are inflated by refreshes — we set a single first-party cookie named sr_v.

  • Its value is a random token generated in your browser. It contains no name, email, IP address, or any other personal data, and is never shared with anyone.
  • We never store that token. Each profile view is recorded as a one-way hash of the token combined with the listing and a secret salt that rotates every day and is never saved. Because the salt is discarded daily, the stored value cannot be reversed back to your cookie, cannot identify you, and cannot be linked across different days or across different listings.
  • It is used solely to produce an approximate count of unique visitors per listing. It performs no cross-site tracking and follows you nowhere else.

If you clear cookies or browse with Tor (which clears them each session), you will simply be counted as a new visitor. You can block or delete the cookie at any time in your browser with no loss of functionality — nothing on the site depends on it.

Information you choose to submit

If you submit a listing, write a review, suggest an edit, or contact us, we store the information you provide so we can moderate and publish it. Don't include anything you don't want to be public. Submissions may include a private note visible only to moderators.

Outbound links

Listings link to third-party exchanges and resources. Some outbound links are affiliate links. Once you leave SwapRaven, the destination site's own privacy practices apply — we have no control over and take no responsibility for them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
